Kummer extension of rational function fields

If a field $k$ has characteristic prime to $m$ and contains all $m$th roots of unity, then $k(X)/k(X^m)$ is a cyclic Galois extension of degree $m$, with automorphisms $X\mapsto \zeta X$.
