For a particle of charge $-e$, the changes $A\mapsto A+\nabla f$ and $\varphi \mapsto \varphi -{\partial }_{t}f$ leave the minimally coupled Schrödinger equation invariant when $\psi \mapsto e^{-ief/\hslash }\psi$.
