Commutator subgroup

The commutator subgroup $G^{\prime }$ is generated by all $[x,y]=x^{-1}{y}^{-1}xy$. It is characteristic, $G/G^{\prime }$ is abelian, and every normal subgroup with abelian quotient contains $G^{\prime }$.
